Ellen Freedman,
Camden County College, USA Answers to the questionnaire, July 17, 1998 In which situation did you use maths online? (School, home,... as pupil, teacher,...) Teacher. Can - according to your opinion - maths online contribute to a better understanding of mathematics? Yes!!! What did you like very much? A great resource for teachers! Do you have suggestions for modification or completion? Hi! First I want to thank you for a wonderful resource of information on the Web. THANKS! I thought you would want to know about my math site on the Web and how I use it in my community college classroom. My site recently won Microsoft Corporation's 1997 Innovator's in Higher Education Challenge Contest for being one of the "top 20" uses of technology in education in the nation. I'm very excited! "Professor Freedman's Math Help" is a mixture of sound, humor, color, animation and graphics with lots of help for the "math anxious" student. Its aim is to give students a self-directed and entertaining way to learn basic math and algebra. The site includes tutorial lessons authored by students, math assignments, study skills tips, links to free tutors and learning style information -- all with really "cool" animation and music. The site addresses the "EMOTIONAL NEEDS" besides the "skills" needs of basic math students of all ages.
You might want to check it out. It really is a "must see" sight. It is
guaranteed to make you smile!
